Series X versus Series S

The game is built on Unreal Engine 5, so the two consoles differ in resolution and image quality rather than content. Everything mechanical, including the 30-day clock and the branching finale, is identical.

• Series S runs at lower resolution with less headroom, so prioritise frame rate over detail.

The Game Pass situation

The game was not included in Game Pass at launch, and it was never announced as a day-one addition. That part is unambiguous.

What is more nuanced is cloud play. The Microsoft Store listing states that the game is cloud playable with Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate, with a game purchase required. That is the buy-and-stream programme rather than a catalogue inclusion: you still pay for the game, but you can stream your owned copy instead of installing it.

Region and language notes

The Xbox version follows a midnight local-time unlock, and multi-time-zone countries used their capital city's midnight. Audio and subtitle support follow the same list as the other platforms, with voice acting in English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Spanish, and a much wider set of subtitle languages including Korean and both Chinese scripts.

Physical production covers the Day 1 Edition and the Collector's Edition for Xbox Series X, and the physical release also carried early unlock content that every player can still obtain later in the game.
